POSITION: GENERAL ACCOUNTANT (JUNIOR)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Job responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and SMSFs
Prepare income tax returns for Individuals, Companies, Trusts, and SMSFs
Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT, Payroll Tax returns, and other statutory lodgements in accordance with relevant regulations
Prepare management reports to support business decision-making
Perform bookkeeping tasks and ensure accurate accounts reconciliation
Conduct tax planning activities to optimise clients’ tax positions
Provide tax advice in line with current legislation and client needs
Stay up to date with Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and industry trends
Maintain direct communication with clients and manage client relationships effectively

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a General Accountant (Junior) with excellent communication skills to join accounting service team. This position must have an advanced understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices. This position should have an aptitude for numbers. They must have a desire to help clients with their accounting processes, to spark progress within the organizations we serve.

Qualifications

Must have:

1-2+ years in similar role within the accounting industry
Knowledge of tax compliance
Experience in MS Office, Xero and Now Infinity would be highly regarded
Completed a University Accounting degree
Completed or pursuing a CPA qualification
Good English

Work Behavior:

Strong time management skills and high attention to detail
Have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and to help others
Proven multi-tasking and problem solving
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Calm under pressure with a can-do attitude
